On December 19, 2003, Zulia Towing and Barge Co, C.A. obtained certification of its System of Management of Quality (SQE or Safety Quality and Environment) by recognized company ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).

The system provides the Norms and lineamientos for the Management of the Quality, the Health, the Security and the Atmosphere of Zulia Towing and Barge Co, C.A. in agreement with:

	Code ISM or Code IGS. International Management Code for the Ship and the Contamination Prevention Operational Security.
	The ISO 9001:2000. Quality System. Model for the quality assurance in the design, the development, the production, the installation and the service post-sale.
	The ISO 14001:1996. Environmental Management System.

Although the system is developed mainly like a model of system of management of companies of services for the safe operation, prevention of contamination and preservation of the atmosphere, the quality aspects also have been considered in detail.

Whereas the management of the quality focuses mainly in the satisfaction of the client, Zulia Towing and Barge Co, C.A. considers that the quality principles have significant a positive impact in the reach of the goals and objectives in the areas of security management and atmosphere. The requirements of the quality system provide prescriptions that improve the effectiveness of the system of security management and atmosphere. What does of the integrated system, one more a guide easier to incorporate to the organizacional culture.
